Quinn Sullivan
The Cut, Gloucester, MA 3/13/2026

Tonight we saw Quinn Sullivan and his band in Gloucester. We first saw him play when he was just 9 years old in 2008, as Buddy Guy's protégée. We thought it was time to see him as a headliner, and he didn't disappoint. He's from New Bedford and had never played in Gloucester before, but he was pleasantly surprised by the turnout and the crowd's enthusiasm. As usual, The Cut is the perfect place to see a show, with great sight lines and incredible sound. And according to Quinn, they have one of the best green rooms on the business. The show was great. He's an amazing guitar player, and we really enjoyed the bluesy material, which was mostly original songs. Two songs from his latest album were standouts: "Rise Up Children" and "Salvation". He played some blistering solos, and even covered Derek and the Dominos' "Got to Get Better in a Little While". It was a fun night!

When we chatted with him at the merch table, we said that we had seen him with Buddy Guy back in the day. He said "that was before I was 21." We couldn't remember the exact date and had to look it up when we got home, but it was LONG before he was 21...he was only 9 years old at the time!

After the show, we ran into John Medeiros, whom we have seen as a drummer for Eliza Neals. He and his wife were talking to Quinn's keyboard player, Scott Milici. John and Scott were bandmates for the late Joe Louis Walker. We said hello and identified ourselves as the ones who had sent him video of his young twin daughters dancing with Eliza Neals at their Bull Run show last year.
